Clark McClelland, working with the Office of Naval Intelligence and NASA from 1958 to 1998 has revealed that NASA, ONI and the USAF have documented numerous contacts between American spacecraft and intelligence facilities and UFOs, including face-to face- contact between ETs and astronauts.

In particular, McClelland claims that he was monitoring astronauts in the mid-deck crew compartment/payload bay during an EVA on a1991 Pentagon sponsored STS mission. As he watched on his 27-inch LCD monitor, two astronauts met an 8- to 9-foot tall ET as its spacecraft orbited with the Shuttle just beyond the main engines.

He offers corroboration from others who viewed the meeting, as well as statements from former astronauts Story Musgrave, James McDivitt and Gordon Cooper, and many others in and out of the space program and military intelligence, as proof that the United States has been in contact with and observed ETs and their spacecraft since even before we had a space program.

His website, www.stargate-chronicles.com includes many anecdotes about these incidents, which are documented in a recent post and links at www.ufodigest.com...

While there is certainly a certain amount of self-aggrandizement in his stories (he's trying to sell a book idea to a publisher), McClelland has a lot at stake and his credentials appear beyond question.

Included in his site are acknowledgements and references from many well-known experts, including scientists, investigators and astronauts, that bolster his credibility.

What exactly does he have at stake?

He already whines about having his "space program retirement" being denied when it's questionable that he's qualified for any retirement benefits. One of the things his "credentials" makes clear is that he worked for a variety of subcontractors before he was employed by NASA. It's not clear how long he actually was with NASA and the reasons for his termination are a bit cloudy.
