How should I criticize Obama without calling him a socialist?

I want to criticize my President because I think it's patriotic to do so.

Like I criticized Bush I want to criticize Obama so if he ever goes out of bounds and makes a lot of mistakes we can let him know the kind of job that he is doing in the Whitehouse which I don't expect to need to happen. But, I just want to criticize his policies without sounding like a typical Republican who assumes he's just a socialist.

How do I do it, as a Democrat, and still sound smart and not racist/ignorant/like a redneck?

Whelp, doesn't seem like ANY criticism was too bad for Bush. So if you don't like Obama and how he is doing - just be honest and say what you think. He is not above reproach.

IMO.

Hopefully Obama will be EVERYTHING he claimed to be, live up to all he promised and be what all his supporters believe him to be.....the best man for our country.

Well, perhaps you can find something in this considering how much Obama has lied in the past and over the campaign:

Foreign Policy
- Both support an aggressive, interventionist foreign policy
- Both support the "Bush Doctrine" of preemptive war on sovereign nations
- Neither support scaling down the enormous expenditure of policing and occupying the world by closing any one of the 700 bases we have in over 140 countries worldwide
- Both will expand the war in Iraq into Afghanistan, Pakistan and Syria
- Both will expand U.N.

operations worldwide
- Both pay lip service to our continued support of Israel, while not mentioning the fact that we give 3 times as much monetary aid to its enemies
- Neither has mentioned the idea of not sending any monetary aid to other countries while the People of America suffer the consequences of a $1 trillion deficit and a $10 trillion + debt
- Both took an offensive stance against Russia, while supporting Georgia, the true aggressors in the Russian/Georgian conflict.. and of course neither has talked about just staying out of the situation all together
- Neither has taken anything, including a preemptive nuclear strike, off the table when dealing with Iran
- Neither support the humble, non-interventionist foreign policy that our Founding Fathers prescribed

Domestic Policy
- Both support the Patriot Act
- Both support the Real ID act
- Both support the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act
- Both will increase Federal spending
- Both support the expansion of our borders 100 miles inland effectively creating a "Constitution Free Zone" that encompasses 2/3 of all Americans
- Neither plan to abolish any one of the unconstitutional or redundant departments of the Federal government
- Both support the militarization of our police
- Both support the construction of hundreds of FEMA controlled detention camps across the US
- Neither plan on reinstating the Constitutional principle of property rights as a way of combating pollution
- Both support amnesty for illegal immigrants
- Both support the North American Union
- Both support NAFTA, CAFTA and the WTO as opposed to truly free trade
- Neither support the 10th Amendment of our Bill of Rights by continuing the many unconstitutional programs and laws that do not fall under the authority of the Federal government
- Neither support a healthcare or education system controlled by the People as opposed to government bureaucracies and corporations
- Neither support states' rights in regard to drugs, education, abortion or marriage
- Neither support an un-infringed 2nd amendment

Economy
- Both support the unconstitutional Federal Reserve System
- Both support the redistribution of wealth via inflation
- Neither support free market solutions to our current economic situation
- Neither support Article 1 Sections 8 and 9 of the Constitution by continuing the confiscation of the People's money, gold and silver, in place of a FIAT currency system
- Both support an increased influence of such global government entities as the IMF and world bank
- Both supported the $850 billion+ Wall Street bailout bill
- Both support expanding government intervention in our market
- Both support the income tax and 16th amendment
- Neither have alternative plans for the future of welfare programs such as Social Security, Medicare and Medicade but will both continue or even expand these programs that are bankrupting our nation

Miscellaneous
- Both have accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars from banks, major corporations and lobbyists
- Both are supporters of the globalist Council on Foreign Relations
- Neither support continued investigations of the events of 9/11/01
- Neither believe in strict adherence to the Constitution
- Neither support holding charges against or the impeachment of President George W.
Bush for his blatant disregard of our Constitution and his breaking of so many laws thereof and international treaties
- Neither will grant full pardons to Ignacio Ramos or Jose Compean
- Both of their vice-presidential candidates plan to use more power than is vested in them by the Constitution
- Both believe the United States to be a Democracy as opposed to the Constitutional Republic that the Constitution and our Founding Fathers intended.

I totally agree with your premise, politics today is the biggest con in history besides the Fiat money and Fractional reserve.

It's know in Sales as "Apple or Pear" close, you say to someone " So do you want and Apple or a Pear" making them choose between one, but both are fruits,

same chicken differant feathers and until they have voting for Bilderberg or the Fed its all just apparent choices to keep us happy.

However I must point something out.

Obama is pulling out of Iraq so that one statement is not factual.

But he will send the troops to Afghanistan instead.

Being critical doesn't mean being abusive, there is such a thing as constructive critcism. Literary critics criticize great literature, but that doesn't mean they are being disrespectful to the authors.
Personally I think socialism is a mature and responsible docterine. But Obama definately is not a socialist.

i say let him at least start the job before making crazy.

as its just that, crazy, no matter who got voted in, guarenteed that today the same people woudl be finding flaws in whoever got elected, when nothgin has been said or done to een pass judgement on.

let him get in office and get a few months under his belt, then its not just critisising for teh sake of it.

Personally, i think the closest person we have to likeness to obama, is jim jones, of peoples temple. I will just call obama jim jones mark 2.

The way the media cannot say anything against him because he is black, is bad for you guys, he is given a free ride.

You can literally compare Obama's plans with Brian Moore's plans, who was/is the Presidential Candidate for the US Socialist Party.

That would be a really good start...

If you feel the need to criticize, do it based on fact -- not rumor or innuendo.

Also, never ever criticize someone based solely on their ethnicity, creed or race. What difference does a person's skin tone make anyway? It doesn't.

Furthermore, if you feel the need to criticize the President-Elect, just remember he has yet to take office.

You seem kind of young. Don't bite off more than you can chew or you're liable to choke.

I agree with some of these post say what you feel.

I think it is crazy that now Obama got elected don't sound crazy with the criticism, make sure it is constructive.

You know what I have to say about that. Reap what you sow. Bush got all kinds of crazy criticism over the past 8 years and expect the same for Obama.

Whatever you call him, Socialist or otherwise, 1. Know the actual definition of the term you choose, 2. Give examples of how Obama fits that term.

Have a reason for what you say. Don't take it from the pundits.

First, you can stop the faulty thinking that patriotism is somehow related to party affiliation. Then you can stop caring if people try to silence your criticicm by calling you a racist.

Finally, please stop the divisive rhetoric by saying things like "typical Republican".

Lol, so calling someone a Socialist is somehow "racist/ignorant/like a redneck"? How about for starters you stop acting like the stereotypical liberal? You sound like you get your talking points from the Mainstream Media, or hardcore Obama supporters, both of whom have label-seeking agendas.

Calling someone a Socialist has nothing to do with anything but their Political Philosophies, and Policies.

As for Obama, we must still wait and see whether he wishes to "Change" into a Centrist, as he has gone to extreme lengths in portraying himself as such; or whether he reverts back to his Socialist/Marxist Philosophies, and extremely Leftist agenda.

However, when all is said and done, Obama IS a Socialist. He belonged to, and was the candidate for a Socialist Party while in the Illinois State Senate (in the 1990's). If Obama actually reshapes his Political Philosophies towards the image with which he has been portraying himself as of late, then we might be able to simply call him a Democrat.
