VANCOUVER- Vancouver police are defending a decision by
officers to taser a 16-year-old mother who wouldn't hand her
baby over to social workers last monday

I don't see how it could be "necessary" to taser a defenseless
young mother, holding her child!

Another blaring example of the rampant use of force by cops.
They have no excuse here. That McGuiness lady needs to be
locked up for psychiatric examination, followed by terrorism
charges. What's going on inside her head? How can she
possibly justify traumatizing a young girl like that? Why did
she suddenly show concern for the infant, when all was well?
Where were the cops heads at?

I am not a cop and I wasnt there so see how intense the situation actually was or how defiant she was but I still 100% oppose this use of a taser. The baby could have been dropped or even electocuted itself if the current reached it? This is a tough situation for any police officer to handle and I hope they get better training in dealing with mentally distraught people and put away the tasers!It even happens in Canada now to
