Hi everyone.

Stumbled across this news item this morning.

blogs.discovery.com...

Interested to hear if any of you think DOD is putting something around the moon (and if so, what that could be)?....or perhaps they're just in a hurry to hitch a ride into earth orbit?

I think the better question to be asking is "What was located at the target that someone did not want seen?"

Since they now have to choose an entirely new target, thats the thing that stuck out at me the most from the article.

Hi Folks,

Can't really see any conspiracy here. The Altas V rocket is used as a launch platform for many missions, it's a bit of a workhorse, from the NRO to the LRO.

What seems to have happened is that the DOD need to launch a satellite earlier than planned, possibly due to a problem with an existing bird, or a new threat that needs closer scrutiny not provided by the current network. They asked NASA if they minded swapping launch windows and NASA agreed. It's common sense that they would then be forced to move the target due to geometry of the moon/earth orbit.

Cheers

Robbie
