CFTC Enforcement Director Resigns

www.foxbusiness.com

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission said Gregory Mocek, its enforcement director since 2002, plans to leave the regulator within two months to return to the private sector.

The agency has been in the news in recent months as it investigates reports of market manipulation and speculation in the energy market.

Mocek plans to return to private practice as a partner in the energy and derivatives markets practice group at McDermott Will & Emery.

There you have it. The fox guarding the hen house, again. No wonder the energy futures market has recently exploded along with the price of oil and gas. They had one of their own as Director of Enforcement at the CFTC. Regulations, what regulations? Enforcement, what enforcement?

Now, with the damage, I mean, the job well done, Mr. Mocek returns to the fold of private practice in the energy and derivatives markets. He should be headed to a prison cell, imo, along with all his slimy co-conspirators. When will this incestuous revolving door between government oversight and those overseen end?
