Just under a third of the Senate, including presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama, supported an amendment proposed by Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., that would have stripped immunity from the bill. It was defeated on a 32-66 vote. Presumptive Republican nominee John McCain did not vote.

Looks like breaking the law doe snot matter in the USA as long as you are a corporation or president. I know many will argue about how there is no difference between republicans and democrats and cite this as an example of that. However the ONLY members of the senate who voted to strip or postpone immunity were democrats, save for 2 republicans, so that simply does not fly. All in all this is really another sad day in the history if the USA.
