I tried to find information on this picture....

It looks like the sun in the upper left corner. There is an obvious shadow from the rover's arm and other part as if light is comming from that direction.

Here is the part I can't figure out...

That sun is WAY too big. It even seems a little large if it was seen from earth, but from mars it should be MUCH smaller. As far as I can find the rover have no onboard lighting.

Perspective of the camera? Dare I say lense flare?

yes, it would be a lens flare. anytime you take a picture of the sun it flares, unless you have a really dark lens filter.

Thanks jra.

I also noticed since i poster a large number of pictures with a similar effect. I'm guessing the rover is facing the sun for more pictures since it reoriented.

Lens flare, and the thin atmosphere of mars. It causes the sun to be brighter, and make a larger possibility of lens flare, plus there's less light filtering.

I was thinking the exact same thing but the sun is usually on the right
