I was thinking about this and the answer seems to be yes.

Knowing can be seen as intuition.

When a parent "knows" her child is in danger or a police officer has a gut feeling and "knows" when he's found the suspect.

When this knowing is more developed it's called psychic ability and precognition.

Knowing is connected to the 5 senses.

When you taste, you "know" the difference between steak and pizza. You "know" the difference between the sound of a cat and a dog after you hear it.

It's this knowing that's a sixth sense.

It comes from our extension into a 4th dimension of space, just like a 2 dimensional being would extend into a 3rd dimension.

When we see things in this higher dimension it's hard for us to explain it in 3 dimensional terms.

This is the mystical experience. This also explains some U.F.O. and paranormal experiences.

These things exist but within a higher or another dimension of space that we are connected to but can't fully observe because of decoherence.

So we see these things and we can't explain them.

Some people have a desire to explain everything but they can't.

Life after death, ghosts, U.F.O.'s are things that occur naturally. There just seen as supernatural because they are outside the observation of our local reality.

So when we see these things, they can't be explained. That's because we are seeing higher dimensional realities that we can't explain in 3 dimensional terms.

A good book to read is:

Extra-Dimensional Universe by John R. Violette.

It's also because of the nature of time. Einstein said the distinction between the past, present and future is a persistent illusion.

So from this 4th dimension of space, time on our worldline is seen all at once.

It's like being in the stand at a horse track. You can see the whole track but the Jockey see's what's going on from moment to moment around him.

So we get glimpses of our timeline and we see things before they happen like with deja vu or precognition.

I think when we try to explain everything in the context of or 3 dimensional reality, we are like a ship lost at sea.

Every U.F.O. is not fake, every paranormal event is not imagination.

We have to began evolving past our fears and our worldviews.

It's like Plato and the Allegory of the Cave.

We try to explain everything within the context of our 3-dimensional cave and we can't.

I remember seeing a mother of a genius ask her child how does he know these things.

He said,"I just know."

Knowing is the sixth sense.

Science is now saying this:

Fishing in the stream of consciousness, researchers now can detect our intentions and predict our choices before we are aware of them ourselves. The brain, they have found, appears to make up its mind 10 seconds before we become conscious of a decision -- an eternity at the speed of thought.

Their findings challenge conventional notions of choice.
