They needed to have Shaman to warn them of the coming crisis. You think I am kidding, but I am not. We need both the right hand and the left hand. This is a Sioux custom....backward people. Persons, who live with the tribe, are very different, look at life in an odd way and are still fully listened to in a council. Kind of like how a Democracy in a Republic should work!

If a shaman had seen the toads, birds and other animals acting strangely he could have warned them.
