Windows Vista Advertisement

Hi. This is a video from YouTube that is a spoof advertisement for Windows Vista.

It is a very funny video and really speaks for itself and I wouldn't have added all this verbiage if the I didn't keep losing my work because the board thinks my contribution is too short to engender a discussion.

***This video does contain a crude word or two, but nothing that you don't go around saying all the time anyway.***

I hate macs. I don't mind the people that use them, just their advertisements. First of all, Macs crash. They have plenty of troubleshooting macs websites.

Second, why do they gear mac commercials towards idiots? If you can't install a camera on Windows? Fine, get a mac, you're too dumb to have a real computer anyway.

I never have problem with Windows, but I use it like I should. I'm a heavy user, so I have multiple hard drives, back ups, and I reformat every few months. I never get viruses (because I'm not dumb and I stay updated).

I'm sure macs are great computers, I have no doubt about that. More importantly, however, so are windows computers (besides ME - worst OS ever).

So yes, if you are into any sort of computer graphics, macs may be the way to go. Also, if you are too dumb to use a windows machine, you can try a mac, but I can't guarantee that you'll find it any easier.

Over 1/3 the hits of windows. Kind of sad considering this:

Mac v. PC

Apple = 6.81%
Windows = 92.42%

Wonder why mac users don't get viruses as often? If you were a programmer, who would you write them for? 6.2% of the market, or 92.42%?

Well heres why i have a MacBook...

I have a PC also, my family has had a few (5) thru the years. I am pretty good at a PC, not a tech specialist like many people here, but i could do the normal stuff, install, i did HTML web building, some small mods to video games, and played video games, and used the internet.

I have used, Window 3.whateva windows 95, windows 98, Windows ME, Windows CE?Now Windows XP And they all have had ups and downs, i think ME was the worst... everything went wroung... I liked 95 the best, and i HAVE some PC games that only work on windows 95

I used to trouble shoot like crazy, all kinds of viruses, and spyware, and add-ware... i had so much crap on my PC... it was so bad...

I got my mac about a year year and a half ago, and have had one wierd thing happen to me in the whole time. I dont have the Virues, the Add-ware, any of the old garbage that weighs down a PC.

I have My old PC still, its nearly 7 years old now... it runs XP, its slow as all hell, i only use it to play Rome Total War... which is only on PC's... My old PC has like a 2.6 ghz w/ 128 RAM, i got it before RAM became the cool thing... I dont Access the Internt on the PC anymore. I had the Hard drive cleared a while back, and havent been on the internt with the PC Much at all if any. It still ocasionaly get a random popup error, that seems to do nothing... but all my PCs have done that...

Basicly, i dont get annoying Random popup errors on the Mac, ever... and it is the first thing that pops up on my PC...

I have Microsoft office on my Mac, and it is compatible with PC verisons of Word, so there is no problem there, and i havent have any crap on my mac over the net... and since i am always on the internet, it is cool to not have these problems happen...


So I like my Mac, but i think i might need to upgrade my PC/get a new one to play the Upcoming Total War game... it sux that Macs cant play the same games...

Outside of the original Mac guy Pc Guy comercials, i havent realy seen many... then again i dont watch much Television... because i loath the advertising as well... And personaly i don't belive that Mac ads apeal to idiots any more then any other add does... and least its quasi-humores... rather then just showing a scantly-clad whore...

I like my PC.

I don't despise Mac, though their current commercials are more than a little idiotic, even if there is an element of truth about them.

I would rather have a machine that's just a little buggy and allows me just about as much flexibility in term of applications and peripherals as I care to indulge in.

I don't really want my computer and everything else crammed into the monitor. If I want a piece of art, I'll go buy a vase.

What I want is the flexibility to change my monitor at will and a host of other things that can be done with ease on a PC.

However, even though I don't have Vista, I'm a little miffed at Microsoft for releasing an OS that requires that the consumer go out and buy so much new hardware and then hang the old OS over the heads of those who are perfectly happy with it and whose machines, like mine, that although are a few years old, still work flawlessly and have room for upgrades, though not enough to make Vista run well in its grandest rendition.

So, I'm neither a PC basher nor a Mac sycophant, but I'd appreciate it if MS would consider that an OS that renders my computer and its peripherals obsolete is not much of an advancement in my judgement.

XP works for me and apparently a awful lot of others feel the same way.

Absolutely HILARIOUS!!!!!

I have Vista on three out of four machines, and while I like it, I know that many don't..

Still and all, it is funny as all get out...

You should put a 512 stick in that computer. It would make it usable, and would probably handle Rome: Total War way better.

Also, your pop ups probably stem from it not being online. You may want to hook it up to the internet, and download all of the available windows update.

Windows messenger server was responsible for some pop ups before service pack 2 (I believe). So installing service pack 2 should fix that. If you don't want to do that, you can always disable windows messenger service - google it find out how.

Honestly, if you would throw a 512 stick and update your computer, your experience would probably be much more enjoyable.

What realy bad is that it came with 64 mb of ram, and i doubled it!

When i first moved here, like a week later, i got a package, i opened it, and it was a stick of 2gb of ramm, me, being kind and all, went and returned it to the correct adress... as well as throwing the chance away at making my PC 100% faster...


RIght now i can play RTW with the Realism mod on it... i just drop all setting to the lowest setting possible... and set unit size to HUGE... i can only have 3000 men on the feild before i go over the 'Max' settings... I have had battles with 3000v6000 and it didn't lag BADLY (it was even in a city)...

The downside is that after an hour or two, the system slows down bad...


I am waiting for the Specs on the new TW: Empires to come out before i mess with my PC... i want to play Empires... i want to be the USA in a Total War game... even if it costs me $1000's...


I have always had these pop-ups... last time i did a windows up date, my CPU stopped working, and i had to have it fixed... so i am NEVER clicking of that pop-up bubble again...

I still wish i could play the Orginal C&C though...

That may have been when SP2 first came out. As I recall, it was buggy as hell and caused a lot of problems for people ( I was still running Windows 2000).

SP2 is pretty good though. I get no pop ups. Might want to get some RAM, format the hard drive, reinstall windows, update it, and get the newest IE7 to keep the comp protected.
