What do we know about blackwater and what do we know about:
A) The people they employ.
B) The weapons they use.
C) The uniform.
D) Their missions.
Anyone have experience with them? from what I understand is that they are fairly secretive.

I think I may know someone who can help answer your questions. The father of one of my friends knows some people who work for Blackwater so he knows a
bit about their operations and how they operate (albeit slightly biased in favor of Blackwater in every situation). I'll ask him your questions
tomorrow and try to get some responses to help answer your inquiries.

Hi,
There was a thread that looked into this Blackwater a couple of weeks ago - may still be live.

Down but not out. Right now the top dog is Triple Canopy. Blackwater has some great staff but they have a hell of a bad image problem. They hire
former mil and some le. When they started out, it was pretty much just another swat school. IMHO there moment in the sun is over. if you want too do
some real digging and find some nasty stuff look into L3 Communications and their group MPRI linky

Thank you for the replies!
I have specific reasons for asking and i'm trying to find the shadiest of the bunch.
There is a group alledgedly working with 1st Special Forces Detachment Delta to pull security for their operations which include artifact retrieval,
they wear military uniforms with rank insignia but nothing else, I heard the rank is for scaring off other armed forces' inquiries in their
duties.
I am trying to find out who they are in particular and if they have connections with blackwater and such.

Bro Blackwater is crap, look up other american Merc Corps, that we dont hear about.
Blackwater was started by an former Navy Officer who did a Support attachment for a SEAL team, fell in love with what SOF can do and used his
Inheiratance to Start Blackwater. Now the ONLY ONLY reason Merc companies exist is because they do not have to follow Rules Of Engagment thats it
thats all.
There are three levels of employees at balckwater etc, Level 3 are actual operators doin the sneaky stuff you must have former SOF experiance to be
level three no if ands or buts, otherwise anyone can join, just pay for your training and you could be sitting on a computer or guarding a door or
doing military jobs just making alot more than me.

I posted this on the last post at the Blackwater thread I've got started as I thought I'd make more people aware of more facts and stuff by letting
them know your thread was out here as well.
Here are some more ATS poster's interesting Blackwater threads that I felt you might like to take a look. I put the ATS member's name before the
thread so you can get to know them more. I never knew there was any other Blackwater threads so I went finding all of the stuff I did on My own and
with all of your contributions as well.

I have as yet not had the time ti thoroughly dig through them to see if we all ended up using any similar materials. I will tell you this that if that
is so then it is by mere coincidence.

There seems to be alot of misinformation out there, let me try to shed some first-hand light on this subject. In a nutshell, Blackwater is a group
of skilled, ex-middle eschelon military personel that have either retired or chosen the route of "same job for better pay".
The duties they perform is much like that of any other Stryker Infantry brigade, convoy security. They do not contract out for special "Gucci"
missions. Their is too much liability for that to occur, especially since Blackwater has been labled "cowboys" not only be the media but by most
governments involved with the Iraqi freedom campaign.
To paint a better picture. They operate out of the same forward operation bases as the rest of the military forces, they drive out dated Humvees, and
spend most of their time in the gym or the chowhall. Wearing body armor they purchased personally with their 96k per year and weapons organic to any
other infantry brigade, they recieve missions from thier state side command to escort some Sec. of State, Oil Baron, or Media reporter.
All in all they have somehow earned this reputation as being "elite". Undoubtedly this comes from the places they came from ie. Ranger Battalion,
various Special forces groups, CAG. But, even just some average Joe some member took a liking to from daily conversations in the messhall could be a
potential recruit. They are another tool to the US government, just a more expensive and less focused one.

They make a hell of a lot more than that, and even if they do pay for it personally, I'm sure their equipment is subsidised by Blackwater.

Level 3 comunications are the folks that linked every state in the union with fiber optics. I worked on the project here in the Northeast for 2
years.
L3 is NOT a classification for the logistics end of the various companies they own and operate. Its the name of the company.

I just finished Robert Young Pelton's "Licensed to Kill" about private military contractors - it's a very deep look into their world and I highly
reccomend it if this is something you have more than a passing interest in.
