No one need be alone
At least he wasn't alone...
Just when my faith in humanity has seemingly reached its nadir. Something seems to happen that renews it.
Rebecca Lane and her husband, along with a group of other people, didn't have to stop, braving Seattle's I5 rush hour traffic...but they did. All
they could do was offer some form of comfort to the dying man, and that's, hopefully, what they did. Hopefully the poor man knew that at the last
moments of his life, he wasn't alone.
No profit, nothing in it for them. Nothing but a streak of humanity we should all be so lucky to pocess, but mostly don't.
Sometimes...just sometimes, the angels of our better nature triumph...sometimes.
Rebecca Lane went to see, and to listen to, the Dali Lama speak on compassion. Why? She could teach lessons on the topic.
