Four civilians have been killed in an airstrike called in by British forces, following a Taliban ambush in Afghanistan, according to the Ministry of Defence.

It is understood that two women and two children died after Tuesday's strike in the south of Helmand Province, in the southern part of the country. Another person was injured.
