Just a question of where this ends.

In Iran, being homosexual is illegal and punishable by death. Are we not allowed to post that we are homosexual?

In Saudi Arabia, it is illegal to consume alcohol. Are we banned from talking about drinking?

Plus, as another poster said, pot is legal in some countries.

Just trying to get clarification and not trying to be an ass.

It has more to do with content filters and the desire of the admin staff to keep this place a family oriented site, than it does with the specific legalities of it all.

The admin staff recognizes that not everything in the US that is illegal, is illegal everywhere else in the world. But rather than trying to accomodate each individual case, they blanket the site in this rule, founded in US law, and the general marketing idea of ATS.

At least, that has been my experience with this rule in the TAC.

For those who claim it would do any of the following:

  1. Make you psychotic
  2. Make you dumb
  3. Make you lazy and not work

Just let me tell you that, er, erm, a friend of mine holds down a £35,000 ($70,000) year telecoms job and is also a devoted family man. All whilst he has been smoking the weed for the past 10 years.

All the hype about it making you crazy or lazy is just that, hype. It couldn't be further from the truth.

Heh, whenever I hear refrence to the "it makes you crazy" slogan, i cant help but think of those old video's Reefer maddness and Know your dope fiend (and others like it)

Making outragous claims with no foundation in reality.

Thanks Intrepid. I must have missed that post by SO. That clarifies it more.
