Here is an obvious example of fear mongering in the American press. WYFF4.com, to which a link appears everyday on CNN, always has these horrible stories about murders, killings, etc. Have a look at their list of local stories.

Those were horrible headlines! I have never seen it so bad where I live. The only thing interesting was the Lizard Man.

I know. It would almost be funny, if these were not real events. Imagine the people that go on that site everyday for their news. No wonder there is so much fear in the US now. I'd get ulcers.
