Semper used a metaphor to describe how Obama deflected the Farrakhan endorsement (the "dirty towel", "dirty" due to the minister's anti-semitic, anti-Israel statements).

I replied that McCain had failed to deflect a similarly "dirty towel" from Pastor John Hagee ("dirty" due to the pastor's anti-semitic, anti- Arab Muslim statements).
