HOMELAND SECURITY-WHAT A JOKE!

I am not sure that I am posting this in the right place, but here goes-

A close relative of mine was just hired in a supervisory capacity at an Air Force base in the Florida Panhandle. They are redoing the base housing and command post there. When he showed up for his first day of work, there was no one to supervise because the entire work crew had just been fired because it was discovered that they were all illegal aliens from Mexico. Now, this crew had been working on the base for a couple of months, and they just discovered the fact that they were illegal. It seems that they hire one hispanic worker who has documentation, and he hires 10 more illegal hispanics to work for him. The general contractor is not held liable for having these people on the job.

My question is, how did these illegal workers ever get on the base in the first place? Is security so weak that they missed the fact that they were illegal?
