Sen. Rockefeller Lets Slip the Spying Truth: Drift Nets To Be Legalized

blog.wired.com

In a Senate floor speech, Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-West Virginia) inadvertently made plain that the proposed changes to the nation's spying laws radically expand how the government wiretaps inside the United States. Rockefeller was decrying an amendment that would require the government to discard non-emergency evidence if a court later finds that the spying methods violate the law.
....Hat Tip to emptywheel for noting Rockefeller's remarks.

Thanks Senator Rockefeller!!!!!Now we really now what is going on with these wiretaps. A Rockefeller at his best. I think we are closer than most think to loss of freedom of speech and right to privacy.

Palehorse23,

Yep, the Rock must have his submarine ready to roll, because he's about as transparent as a guy could be. Forget stale OBL threats, we've got the ranking Dem intel chairman laying it right out in the Senate record and on C-span. Check the last few minutes of the C-Span 3-hour I linked .

IMHO - That was a forecast!

best,
-scrap.
