purpose of war on terror

i was watching and tv ad came up for a news station saying what is the purpose of the war on terror
a. dissolve nuclear threat
b. control oil reserve
c. destroy axis of evil
d. distract from homefront(economy crime etc.)
i think its all of them
what do u guys think??
