Unclassified Sighting Holoman AFB 11MAR50
Not much here on a sighting at Holloman AFB NM, the record card states INSUFFICIENT DATA.

Document date: 1950-03-11
Department: Unknown
Author: Unknown
Document type: Record Card
pages: 2

Archivist's Notes: Unfortunately the second page which could give information on this mystery sighting is mostly illegible. The record card states photos or analysis not in file. That opens the possibility that this sighting could be in another of these FOIA files.

Very sparse data on this one. Just the date of 11 March1950 11/0800Z and the fact that there was a photo. (The box for photo is checked.) It also mentions a "Videon" photo. Aside from this, I found no other data that could be read on the second page.

Slim pickin's, as my dear old Pappy would say. Maybe more info will turn up somewhere else on this one.

I did a search on the readable parts of the PDF page 2 and came up with 2 sites:
PROJECT TWINKLE

During February 1950, the frequent reports of unexplained aerial phenomena in the vicinity of Holloman Air Force Base and Vaughn, New Mexico prompted the Commanding Officer of Holloman Air Force Base to initiate a program to gather factual data……..
(bottom part of the letter) =
Within the next few months, Dr. Whipple will have completed the installation of two 18-inch Schmidt cameras for meteor studies. The cameras will be stationed about 20 miles apart in the vicinity of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Since these studies will be sponsored by the GRD, arrangements can be made for examining the film for evidence of aerial object phenomena
