one thing is for sure, they are definately a very interesting animal.

i guess that dates them back with crocodiles and stuff eh?

I bet they don't look like that 112 million years ago. Much larger.
But they sure look harmless for an animal that has 112 miilion years old history.

They are poisonous. The male is more dangerous. If you're an aussie, you probably already know this. Be careful when you're near one.

they are a most interesting animal, unique to Oz aswell.
almost like an otter/beaver type animal but with a duck like bill, and lays eggs sure makes it a weird little critter.
oh and yeah, theyre poisonous but most think they are just a cute harmless little critter

it sure would be interesting to see what theyre like back then, i wonder if some of the animals mentioned above have come from the platypus somewhere along the line.
