Is it possible that someday, the scales will tip and the size of the population alone will be too great for any minority group to govern. If you think about it, the government acts like a transistor in that a small semiconductor can control with a small flow of current can control a much larger group of the same source of voltage.

So if the power is high enough (population), then it becomes greater than the rating of the transistor and the transistor(government) cannot be used. The people then exist without government.

Think of the people also as a wild stampede of range animals. A few cattle can easily be corralled and controlled and led around. Even thousands can be driven more miles on end, but if the number is too great and they decide to stampede, then they cannot be controlled easily. It is the number that makes them uncontrollable in a stampede, and it can be precipitated by a small portion of the herd being "spooked" and it spreading to the rest of the herd.

I think these are great analogies of how the global governments will come crashing down. Our numbers will become too great and then calamity.

When you say Government that would include the police all the way up to the military. A hand gun is a force multiplier. What this means is a police officer with a gun can hold back a large crowd because those people in the crowd do not want to take a chance of getting shot.

On the flip side, if all those people in the crowd are not afraid to die and are willing to die for something then the police are f**ked.

Exactly. It isn't necessary that a cop control an entire crowd, but that he control the minds of enough that the whole crowd is kept at bay. There will always be some dissenters, but as long as the population grows faster than the rate that the government grows, then those displeased with government will become too large to control. At that point, the scale tips and the people begin to change the minds of the rest of the people. The government is then overthrown, no matter how much control they think they have or the amount of weapons they have.

Look at Iraq. I am not sure of the numbers but there is just marginal control over the country. There is a far greater ratio of soldiers and police to the population than in most places in the world and they are only making marginal gains in improving the country. Consider if the population was doubled and you will see that the number of insurgents would most likely be doubled as well. This would throw off the balance to a great extent. At some point, it would be impossible for a few to control the greater number.
