I've just been thinking, where would our mind set be on events and all things media related without the internet, its the internet that gives us awsome sites like this and to think differently from the normal mentality that the govt wants.

The biggest threat to all higher powers and global f*%^ heads is the internet.

Good question. Where do YOU think our mindset would be?

The biggest threat to all higher powers and global f*%^ heads is the internet.

Really?

Sounds like they've got us right were they want us - sitting on our behinds locked away in our houses and safely out of the way. :p

Why else would "they" allow such a tool to be given to us in the first place?

Oh no! The user forums have opinions! Let's drop everything and head for the hills guys, they've got us all figured out!

*Empires tumble, civilization collapses - no one notices because everyone was too busy downloading music, blogging, and making bizzare youtube videos*

Brilliant plan. Absolutely BRILLIANT.

General Eyes, thanks for the laugh! That was funny...1 more thing, you forgot pr0n, too. That keeps them busy as well.

Well......I don't think internet is that much of a threat to anybody who believe they run the world - in fact, the actual physical action would be considered a threat, don't you think?

*Blogging..."Aw, WWIII is on, that sux. Anyway..."*

I have a feeling that in the not too distant future the internet will be required in every home and it will be more two way than 1984.

I had high hopes for the internet. I thought it would bring cultures together, I envisioned chatting with a Japanese "penpal" through some cool interpreter software, and we would both realize we are more alike than different, and the world would be a little bit smaller.

the reality is the internet has allowed porn to become accepted and mainstream, and has allowed the lunatic fringe to have a voice.

Anything I learned on the internet was already available at the library.

I think you could argue the opposite, the internet has dumbed down the population, and let them believe that posting on the internet is akin to an organized protest march

Why would it be required in every home? It's a both win-win situation.
