Martian Soil Study - the dirt on the dirt

I think that the surface looks like when you have cocoa powder sprinkled onto hot milk. To start with it dosen't want to mix in but just kind of scrunches up on the surface.
I know that thats not very scientific and that the surface of mars is obviousley not cocoa powder, it's just what it reminds me of.
