In the turbulence of our current times we're losing touch with reality. The things that we should hold most dear are becoming dangerously less and less serious. There's daily talk of war, bombs, guns, attacks, killings, massacres, all of which seem to beat a drum into obscurity. These images thrown at us everyday are enough to dull the most sensitive person into casually excepting the current situations that you and I have greatly contributed to.

*SNIP*

Although a lot of people who have tried to right their wrongs are doing a fantastic job in compensating for their past discretions we have a lot of people still perpetuating the cycle of mass violence, dangerous nationalist fervor, and hate rhetoric. We can't lose touch with natural human morality in this era. We cannot except blood being spilled on our watch and at least we can have the common decency to assist in capping the sort of ignorance we hear from a select few in these forums, in our homes, and in our communities.

(I just want my friends back.)

Yes, quite a lot of us live in major countries contributing to the war in one way or another. That does not give us the excuse to call for more blood, more loss of life, more loss of innocent people like you and I, our families trapped in the middle of a conflict we're not taking part in . They're people just like us. As human beings we must end this sociopathic form of thinking at all costs. We have a moral obligation to one another as a species. Not just a race, a religion, or caste but as a species to intervene in time of hardship and injustice. As much as we love our nation, or nations, we cannot afford to succumb to illogical thinking, especially when lives are hanging in the balance. It's our duty to keep peace within our own communities and households which may or may not carry over to a national scale, and even further.

War is cold and ugly but that by no means suggests that we have to follow suit. We are compassionate animals and we need to start utilizing that compassion for the betterment of all man kind. We must reject the notion from media that we need to "take sides." We need to stop dividing one another and unite as a peaceful populace to end the tyranny that we as citizens created through one means or another. As easy as it is to be cold we should find the strength within ourselves to stay positive and look for a hand to pull up instead of a head to push down. If we don't correct our course as a global society we may see our end in this generation. And it will be all OUR fault!

Why is this acceptable? We're not cold people. This has got to end with us.

We would need a unified people the likes of which the modern world has never seen.

It would be a wonderful sight to behold though.

Do you mean unification under a one world government? The Bible predicts that will happen under the antichrist. Do you mean perhaps unification under one economic system? The Bible predicts that via the mark of the beast, of which bio-chip implants are one possible fulfillment.

The signs of the times of the last days are wars and rumours of war, disease, famine and as the thread starter alluded to, the moral sickness that causes these things. The Bible says "men's hearts will grow cold". Yes we are seeing all these things.

The Bible has "predicted" a lot of things in every single generation. You know why? Because they're extraordinarily broad claims. So every century we have folks pulling out verses that not only two hundred years earlier they were saying the same thing about their generation.
