Why don't movie slashers ever give the weed-eater any love?

The question occured to me after I had just got done talking to my friendly neighborhood, green-carded, lawn maintenance guy.

The only problem I could see in using it as a death device is that the psycho-slasher would constantly have to keep replacing the heads, but a weed-eater would be a tortuous, painful device nonetheless.

I think I'll start working on a script.
