First off let me admit my undying love for Jodie Foster.
But this piece by Neil Jordan really got to me. Maybe it was that gritty NY urbanscape, The barebones script except for Jodie's word jazz or the
violent reality that lies under the thin veneer of society.
This is a psychological study that is subtle and very scary at the same time. For me this film brought up parts of my psyche that I promptly shoved
back down in that dark place underneath my ego.
Terrence Howard was great as was all the cast and "vatos" cast as villains did a masterful job at recreating what most of us would rather just
simply ignore exists.
This is not a film for car chase, or splosion adventure fans. It's hard to say I "liked" this film but you need to see it.
