After listening to Irans leader speak I don't know whether to laugh in disbelief at his remarks or pitty the middle east as a whole.

Has the west realy opressed these people so long that they fell off the evolutionary tree and hit every ignorant branch on the way down?

It was a great forum for the Iranian President to spread his brand of propaganda. I noticed few real hard ball follow-up questions forcing him to answer directly any questions presented to him. He avoided any straight answers and redirected the discourse by using rhetoric. It sounded like classic Marxist, Leninist propaganda from the 1950's and 1960's.

It is a windfall win for him because there is no way Farsi speakers are going to hear what we heard. The translation was rushed and does not reflect the obvious nuance and intent and passion he obviously has for his positions on different subjects.

It may have sounded ludicrous to us but Al Jeazera isn't going to edit that way. This guy is a pretty good propagandist and his appearance on the Columbia stage was a PR windfall for his side. The President of Columbia played into his hands and didn't pursue him to answer anything adequately. There was no real rebuttal to any of his rambling statements, no straight answers. Columbia was duped. That's a term from the Cold War Era and aptly applies to this farce.

If any American were to answer the questions he was posed on homosexuality and women's rights they would have been booed off the stage. We are too soft methinks, and when we see evil in our presence we often don't recognize it.

Although the Iranian President is well suited for his propagandist position he is definitley a minor leaguer compared to someone like Adolph Hitler who was a consummate speaker and a master of group manipulation. This man is an amateur but nonetheless effective enough.

The leftist elite are ill suited at rooting out evil.

As my kids are fond of saying, "We Got Owned!!".
