So where do I begin?

I had gotten some tickets, and paid a lawyer to handle it for me, cash up front of course!

Well, he didn't show up, which almost got me in some trouble...

See the reason he didn't show up is because he was arrested for 132 grams of coc aine, and having kiddie porn at his home...

I had gotten a call, so I tried to contact this loser, but had lost his number i googled his email... which brought up a myspace LAWLMG and some forum where he had posted naked pics of his wife and was looking for people in the texas area to come shag her...

only in odessa.

Well I googled his name after seeing his myspace LAWLZ and well, this is the first link..

A 31-year-old Odessa attorney remained Thursday in the custody of U.S. Marshals after he was charged with possession of coc aine and possession of child pornography.

Ralph Anthony Torres Jr. was arrested Monday after a “week long investigation,” Ector County sheriff’s investigator Abel Sanchez said.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeff Parras, Torres remained Thursday in the custody of U.S. Marshals. He has had an initial appearance before a U.S. magistrate and probably will have a preliminary hearing next week.

Torres was arrested after trying to sell a “confidential informant” about a half-ounce of coc aine, an arrest warrant said. The sale price was $300.

Following a tip from the informant, Abel Sanchez — dressed in uniform — pulled Torres over Monday on a routine traffic violation in 1300 block of Bluebonnet Ave. There, Torres was arrested on a charge of not having his current address on his driver’s license.

After the arrest, Sanchez searched the gold Dodge minivan that Torres was driving. There, he reported finding 15 grams of coc aine — about half an ounce, the warrant said.

In addition to the 15 grams found in Torres’ vehicle, 132 grams of coc aine along with 116 grams of marijuana was found at the attorney’s house, the warrant said.

Sanchez said Thursday he made another discovery once he searched the home of the attorney — in Torres’ master bedroom, they found pictures of nude girls as young as 6 to 8 years old .

“Actually, it was not part of the investigation,” he said. “We just — during the search — came up with some stuff that he had in possession.”

Parras said Torres, if convicted, could face up to 20 years on the coc aine charge and up to 10 years on the child pornography charge.

“He could face up to 30 years total,” Parras said. “That’s the maximum he could face in prison if convicted.”

The only thing more applicable than...

Caveat Emptor...

Might be the balanced and even hand of Karma does exist.

Sorry about the cash Lys.

On the bright side, the Karmic bounce will be this jerk's head in prison when they find out about the kiddie porn...

You know what pisses me off the most about this? The fact that he gets more time for coc aine than he does for child porn...

I was just thinking about you the other day, Lys, and wondering where the hell you were. This explains it. Sorry you've been ripped off, but think of the movie script you could write!

This is THE MOST random thing I have read in a loooong time. WOW.
Man I can understand why you're furious. That is totally not something you expect from someone in law. Sorry about the money...

If it's any consolation, I made you a little comic describing my exact thoughts when I read your post.

Im a paralegal and I actually worked with this guy at a law office in the DFW Metroplex. Mr. Torres finished law school in 1996 but he didn't pass the bar until 2005. He would come to work high and snort coke in his office (I walked in on him.) He was only a law clerk then because he couldn't pass the bar. I was also approached by him once at work. He was inquiring about my sexual preferences and told me his wife wanted to have a threesome with me.
She got mad when I turned them down. I reported sexual harrasment and he quit shortly after and moved back to Odessa.

The Real Killer is...... This couple has three young children, 1 girl about 7 or 8 yrs old and 2 younger boys. Poor kids, to bad we can't choose our parents!

Here are a few things to consider:
DON'T EVER HIRE AN ATTORNEY (LET ALONE GIVE ONE YOUR MONEY) BEFORE DOING RESEARCH. This can be down online or by contacting the Texas Bar Association.

You would be suprised how many attorneys are functional coke heads and alcholics.

You should try filling a greivence. If he is convicted you have a good chance at winning a civil suit if you choose to file one. The Torres Family is very educated (with the exception of this axxhole!) and are pretty well off! You can also try filing an affidavit of inability to pay or (Pauper's Oath) so you would have to pay for the civil suit........ GOOD LUCK
