All the President's men, and then some

EVER feel guilty about over-packing on your travels? George W.Bush will make you feel better.

The US President is bringing to Sydney with him not one Jumbo jet, but three, as well as another two aircraft that carry aircraft.

www.news.com.au...

Sorry for posting this, as some of you may see it as irrelevant, etc, but I found it to be a royal laugh, or shall I say presidential laugh.

Read the whole article, absolute pisser! Over kill, I think so.

It is sealed against chemical and biological attacks, too, which means it should just about block out the stench from Sydney's Pyrmont fish markets.

Love that line!

When the President's head hits the pillow in Sydney, it will be in a seven-room suite in the InterContinental Hotel, at $4300 a night.
Kerry Packers old suite at Crown Casino was $22k a night. I think POTUS is getting stiffed!

I don't find anything described to be extravagant for the U.S. to pay for the safety of our head of state and government. The total would be easily swallowed by a rounding error when discussing the U.S. budget.

Given that even on a generally civil forum like ATS we've already seen what could be considered death threats against him, no expense should be spared in his defense IMO.

He is travelling in Australia, not America or Iraq.

What are we going to do? "That aint a knife, this is a knife".
