I found this site searching urticaria on the Net. My friend's 15 year old boy has this. I had this when I was 32 - now am 41. I went to a lot of
Doctors and was on antihistamines for a year. My Doctor got upset with me for being on them for so long and told me to quit. The hives were
debilitating - caused from pressure, temp change, food, drink (ie coffee), etc. They happened overnight, I woke up one day and within a few hours was
covered in hives - head to toe. I was allergic to my cat, my carpet, my steering wheel, flip flops etc. I never had hives previous and was not sick
at all nor had a cold for at least 6 months or a year or so. After my Doctor told me to get off the pills I was frustrated so went to a naturopath.
He did his own allergy test and said I had the worst case of allergies he'd ever seen. I was tested by the medical allergist a year prior
(specialist - skin prick test) and he said I had no alleries at all. Against my naturopaths wishes I went on a very strict diet and combined an
elimination diet with an anti-candida diet. I ate only organic foods and never ate the same food 2 days in a row. I ate the foods in the whole state
as much as possible and ate as much raw veggies as possible. Absolutely no sugar, even fruit. Within 4 to 6 weeks I was 99% better. The first week
I suffered terribly as I had to go off the antihistamines as well. I then reintroduced foods to my diet , one new food every 3 days. Today, I get
hives if my diet gets bad so I just clean up my diet and I'm ok. Hope this helps. By the way, my regular Doctor thought my naturopath was a quack
and the diet leading to a cure was a coincidence. Hope this helps a little.
