Who is going to unlock our reserves ?

Hey im from the UK and its common knowledge that we have ALOT ALOT of coal held back so when fossil fuels are nearly ran out we are goign to unlock ours and make billions, who and when is going to do this ? Surely what ever political party does this is goign to have so much funding to win every election afterwards.

How do you get the Environmental Activists to allow it to be mined would be a better question perhaps. Look at us here in the US. We have a mountain range sized deposit of marketable Oil Shale and untapped Oil Fields all over the place but nobody can get past the 9th Circuit Court to produce any of it. We don't even need Middle Eastern oil but the Activists would rather fight wars than produce our own. I think the UK is in the same mess as we are.
