Turkish poll candidate shot dead Ahead of July22 Election

news.bbc.co.uk

An independent candidate has been shot dead in Istanbul ahead of the 22 July general election in Turkey.
Tuncay Seyranlioglu's car was hit with gunfire on a highway as it was taking him away from a television studio, the Anatolia news agency says.

The 42-year-old businessman owned a construction firm and a newspaper and had been hoping to be elected as an MP for an Istanbul district.

It sound like they are trying to tie the Kurdish gunman to the killing of the independent candidate if so then it could inflame the turks to cross the border into Iraq.

What I don't get is how they connect an attack of two troops near the border to what is an obvious hit against a political candidate in Istanbul. The two do not appear to be related at all. Istanbul is clear on the other side of Turkey and no where near the Iraq boarder. You have a better chance of blaming Bulgaria than the Kurds.
