Palestinian President Outlaws Hamas Militias

Deposed Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh:"The council of ministers considers the steps adopted by President Mahmoud Abbas to ... have no basis in law," First he butchers Fatah,and now crys like a little girl.Now all of a sudden he wants the "law" upheld.Fatah are no angels,but are certainly a better option than Hamas.Hamas does not want peace,it wants to destroy Israel.Fatah has said it will work with Israel,and has shown it will. Well in a first on this board, I actually agree with you on something.

Corrupt as they may be, Fatah is infinitely preferable to Hamas.

Still I suspect Hamas is going to lose a lot of support - when they try to impose Sharia law on the famously secular Gazans, they may find a lot more resistance than they suspect. But they have a degree of ideological zeal Fatah lacks, which IMHO has been their cheif advantage so far.
