US bases: 'Russia misleading public'

Prague/Rome: Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek yesterday accused Russia of misleading the public about planned US missile defence bases in the Czech Republic and Poland to hide Russia's internal problems.

"Russia needs an outside enemy to hide problems at home," Topolanek said in a live interview with the Czech television.

Here is the most frightning part, it goes on to say...

[Russia has not expressly targeted its missiles at Europe since the end of the Cold War but, asked if it would do this again if the US missile shield plant went ahead, Putin said: "Yes, naturally."]

...Looks like we've got another Cold War coming up.

Why does this come as a suprise to anyone?

America is obviously and blatantly threatening the security of Russia with their missile shield. They are in effect surrounding Russia.

It`s just like the Cuban missile crisis: America put missiles in Turkey, aiming all over the USSR - and when the Soviets retaliated by doing the EXACT SAME THING in Cuba, Americans were outraged at the affront - - as though the provocation was simply a figment of someone else`s imagination.

Of course Putin will re-arm. He has NO CHOICE but to. America has forced his hand.
