Shotguns would be a useable option for survival situations. However for a shotgun to be of any real use it needs to have a decent length barrel. The
Super Shorty only has a 6.5" barrel.
The shotgun that I use for game shooting (a Lanber Sporting De Luxe 12ga. O/U) has a 28" barrel. This only has a useable range of about 50m at a p
ush. A 6.5" tube will give you an effective range of about 5m before accuracy and velocity drop too far to be of use. It's only real use would be as
a breeching shotgun loaded with powdered lead shot (Hatton type rounds).
Still, I bet that it would scare the living hell out of someone at close range!
