New York City's mayor has denounced the next version of Grand Theft Auto (GTA), for the violent game's resemblance to the metropolis. Although the game is set in fictional "Liberty City," trailers show familiar New York City landmarks, such as the Statue of Liberty, Coney Island's Cyclone, and the Brooklyn Bridge.

Dear Mr NYC Mayor,

Wheres the outcry for all the movies that depicts New York in a bad light? I guess bashing video games is this generations Scape Goat.

What an idiot. It's ok to spoof New York as long as it doesn't have any landmarks now? What a moron.

He can denounce it all he likes, it does'nt mean anything he says or thinks
acually matters anyways.

If I'm not mistaken Grand Theft Auto: 3 was also based in Liberty city,
but I don't remember there being a big deal about where it was based
on, and it was sort of easy to figure out it was based on new York with-
out outside knowledge.

Personally, I could care less what he pr anyone thinks, I'll definately buy
the game when it comes out, is it violent, yes, is is graphic, yes, does it
make criminal activities seem like a 'cool' thing to do, to stupid people,
yes, but not to smart people who get to enforce the law when the stupid
ones screw up.

Yes, sounds like he is yet another person who says that video games will make people break the law. Maybe he is also the type that will blame his pen for misspelling a word too!....lol
