Edited to add...
The Devils Interval eh, VERY interesting, thanx for that, a nice read before i go to bed.Another interesting snippit of info is that: The CORRECT
mathematical note of (A) is 438Hz, this was changed to 440Hz in the late 1800s(80s or 90s) by the French scientific union..something or other(cant
remember what its called....the one that hold the wieghts apon which all others are measured)....
....This was due to Oprah singers "shredding" thier vocal chords on the 438Hz (A) note. Powerful stuff. It is also interesting to note that in the
Great Pyramid, the Kings chamber is tuned to the key of MATHEMATICALLY CORRECT 438Hz, and the Coffer resonates at the MATHEMATICALLY CORRECT 349Hz
(F), they new ALOT about Cymatics in those days, and without ANY of our fancy modern equipment
to Saint...
.... can i just say that i think you and me are deffinately on the same "wave length" (please forgive the unavoidable pun
) with regards to how we
percieve the nature of existance.
I came across a very interesting site that ill post later when ive find it, that showed the equivalent frequency of sound to light/colour.
i think the its something like 7^14 octaves up is where you reach the equivilent "colour" frequency, I think red is F#, Green is middle C etc.
Perception is a VERY powerful thing.
I can understand a colour have an emotional effect due to life experiences...
Red to hot
Blue to cold
yellow to summery
etc. etc.
and i know we also have abstract emotional responses too colours, such as
Red to Angry
Blue to calm
Pink to PUKE...(sorry, couldn't resist
)
But what are our life long, and even GENERATIONS long experiences that govern our perception of music.
with colour we have PHYSICAL experiences (most of the time) to compair these to, but SOUND does not come from a physical experience, it CREATES a
physical experience wich is an emotional responce, (kinda goes with idea of WAVES/vibrations being what "sculptures" reality).
But in our experiences through life, we dont "hear" a minor pentatonic scale and then something "sad" happens, or here a major chord and the sun
comes out.
So theres the thing, what makes every human grow up with the same emotional perception of tones/notes without the need for experience, unlike the
"Red to Hot" senario.
Interesting topic, deffinately seems to touch on the nature of reality, in perticular our PERCEPTION of that reality,SEEMINGLY pre-designed for our
"interactions" with eachother? Or maybe designed for musical appreciation, which would be evolution jumping "ahead" of its self....which suggest
an "all pervaiding consciousness" at work.....
Anyway, im going to bed now, but ill do some digging tomorrow and post my findings.
Anyone e;se have any ideas, feel free to chuck 'em in
PEACE
