Gun ownership in Washington D.C.

After doing a little surfing tonight that ended up in a
research project the following question popped into
my mind so I thought I would post here and get some
other opinions....

I had found these interesting links about gun ownership
in D.C.

The first link states that Washington D.C. is not a state(which anyone
who is a U.S. citizen should already know) and also has no state constitution.

The second link states that D.C. falls completely under
the U.S. constitution which states in Ammendment II
the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

That leads me to question the legality of ANY laws that restrict gun
ownership for residents of Washington D.C.

At one point we had considered moving to DC - for job reasons. They have GREAT homeschooling laws. But then we saw the 'no guns' law. YIKES! That's plain wrong! No wonder the D.C. sniper had such a field day. He wasn't worried about anyone blasting the heck out of him if he got caught.

Seriously ..... it's a bad law.

If you were a politician would you want firearms near you?

There are four classes of people that want to ban firearms. Criminals, Socialist, Communists ( Traitors to the USA) and Politicians.( I wonder about these guys)

the "Posse Comatatus" group and others tried the "Unconstitutional" approach to the Law of the Land. Got most of them jailed...

I oppose most if not all Gun Laws. However, as Roper insinuated, the politicians are powerful enough now that there is little we can do as individuals except exercise our ability to vote...

DC is very restrictive and their crime rates are indicative of that control....

the one and only point of gun control is control it's ludicrous to believe that politicos care about the people or that reduction in crime is what is sought (if you look at the numbers almost universally it's more guns less crime
