Has anybody seen the Showtime series Dexter?
The 1st season ended, and I managed to catch all 12 episodes On Demand.
I am hooked on this show. The premise is a very good one. The main character - Dexter - works for the police in the capacity of a forensic blood specialist. Here's the twist, he's a serial killer. He hunts down the really bad guys that the police haven't caught, and kills them when he's not working for the police. Obviously the police, in fact virtually no one knows about his "hobby". He only targets "monsters". People who have murdered innocent victims in horrible ways.

It is a really well written show, and the acting is quite good. I don't know when the second season starts, but man I can't wait!

Anybody else seen this show?

I got "hooked" on it part of the way through. I thought it was one of the very best things on television.

Showtime is replaying season 1 starting in april.

LOS ANGELES, CA (November 2, 2006) —SHOWTIME has ordered a second season of its freshman drama DEXTER, starring Emmy®- and Golden Globe®-nominated actor Michael C. Hall (“Six Feet Under”), it was announced today by Robert Greenblatt, Showtime President of Entertainment. DEXTER premiered last month to widespread critical acclaim and ranks as SHOWTIME’S top-rated series. Production is set to begin on 12 new episodes next spring and will premiere on SHOWTIME later in 2007. The series follows Dexter Morgan (Hall), an incredibly likeable forensics expert for the Miami Police Department who moonlights as a serial killer.

I look forward to the new season.

I love this show. Between this, and Masters of Horror, I think Showtime has a great horror section.

I've just started reading the first book "Darkly Dreaming Dexter". My bro says it's a little different than the series, I'm curious how.

Hopefully showtime will run with it longer than hbo has run its new series. I was a fan of deadwood and rome and those while popular didn't last very long. Showtime should be able to run with dexter for a while. The dexter story is limited only by imagination.

Rome wasn't cancelled. It recently ended it's second season, no?

Dexter will be back but Showtime does behave strangely with its shows. Huff was brilliant and garnered critical praise as well as emmy nominations and yet they cancelled it. The L-Word which is unwatcheable remains on the air.

Go figure.

The rome episode last nite was listed as series finale. That is why I think it is cancelled. I hope dexter lasts longer than 2 seasons.

I had no clue that they cancelled it. they did that with carnivale. that show was pretty cool and off it went, to no man's land.

shame

The Dexter book series still has 2 novels to go. Since the first novel was the first season, more or less, there has to be at least 2 more seasons.

Season 2 has been running, and it's great. Has anyone caught any of the episodes? I saw ep 1 and 2 last week, and I plan on downloading ep 3 tonight.

Good schtuff

Really? I have episodes 1 and 2 and they're great. I don't want to spoil anything, but Dex gets into some hot water.

Oh man, here's why:
www.denofgeek.com...

The second season of Dexter is months away, but someone at Showtime/HBO seemingly couldn't resist giving everyone a taster, and posted the entire first episode onto the Internet some three months ahead of time...

I just assumed that since the episodes were available in torrents that the season must have started. I don't have showtime so I can only DL the episodes.

Crap, now I have to wait to find out what happens in episode 3

curses!!!

Lookin' forward to it BIG time. It's one of the only shows I watch that doesn't have SpongeBob Squarepants or Elmo and the like. Aside from NFL football that is!

*Note, this is not an advocation of illegal activity*

If you have the chance to watch the episodes, I recommend you do it. It's got new characters, celebrity cameos from certain pro wrestlers, and a much deeper Dexter.

It certainly is Good Stuff!!
