Weather radar picking up unusual activity or some thing else?

I harp on about HAARP, I debate about DUMBs, I spectulate on aliens, but I have no, i repeat no ideas about what this image is showing. Nothing at all.

How can a radar pick up an image like this unless its reflecting off of some thing? be it rain clouds, storm clouds ect.

Can any one help by telling me just what i may be seeing in this image?

I don't know. It looks like some sort of radar malfunction. At the end of the loop if you look very closely, you can see the last phase of radar sweep.

I wouldn't think too much into this. Cool find though.

What are we looking at that's so strange.

Light precipitation and possibly some ground clutter/echos is all I see.

I took some intro and general meterology class in high school and college and understand the basic concepts of doppler radar, but I don't see anything strange (although I am by no means whatsoever any kind of expert). Has the original image been replaced?

From the link you posted, doesn't that map refresh every so often?

So what you saw when you created the post is gone now.. right?

Cause all I see is some normal stuff with maybe some lake effect over Penn?

Yeah that's NOAA's site, the radar is realtime (although they sometimes post interesting stuff into a sort of archive). The site has a pretty good page on how WSR-88 doppler radar works and how to read it.

So whatever the OP was talking about is gone...
Maybe it is archived somewhere? I'm interested to know what this weird radar signature looks like.
