West Ham have opened talks with Wimbledon's highly-rated captain Nigel Reo-Coker.With the sale of David James boss Alan Pardew is looking to bolster his squad and is ready to use the money to fund a deal for Reo-Coker.

Last week Wimbledon turned down two mystery bids from Premiership clubs for the England under 21 international.West Ham now are looking likely favourites to land him.The player's representative Tony Finnigan confirmed West Ham were interested in Reo-Coker and that the player was keen on a move.Reo-Coker and team mate Adam Nowland were both pulled out of Wimbeldon's squad for last weekend's game with Stoke, speculating rumours that the Hammers were going to make a swoop for them both.Hammers boss Alan Pardew has already confirmed that he is hoping to make at least two new signings this week with Reo-Coker and Adam Newland the most likely targets.

The 19-year-old Dons captain has attracted interest from Crystal Palace, Leicester, Portsmouth, Tottenham and Cardiff this season. But the England Under-21 international has agreed personal terms with the Hammers and will undergo a medical at Upton Park on Wednesday.

I agree at least West Ham are bringing in some young talent for a change, they certainly need it and it looks like some more may be on its way.
