World number one Justine Henin-Hardenne beat third seed Amelie Mauresmo 6-4 6-4 to win the women's final of the adidas International. Henin-Hardenne finally completed the victory on her own serve after previously failing to convert three match points.

The Belgian had claimed to be working on attacking the net more often and her new aggressive game plan was evident in the win.It was always going to be tough for Mauresmo, who had to play her semi-final against Francesca Schiavone earlier in the day after it was postponed on Friday due to rain. But the 24-year-old played down suggestions that her hectic schedule had cost her the tournament.

It is always a very positive thing for a player to win a warm-up tournament before a grand-slam. It is sortof a confidence booster.

The way she has been playing i don't think she needs a confidence booster, she is one of the top players now and certainly does look favourite to win.
