Fox News has reported that former President Gerald Ford has died. His wife made the announcement just minutes ago. I will add more as details are reported.

At a time when I hated Nixon and the Republican party, I admired Ford as a statesman in an era of egomaniacal leadership.

I would have liked to have seen him serve another term. He couldn't have done worse than Carter.

Ford was definitely the most underrated president of our history. He was thrust into an extraordinary situation he could never have imagined himself in, and he excelled.

The man is a national hero, IMO.
