Unfancied Leicestershire ended Surrey's domination of English cricket's new competition by overcoming their line-up of internationals to lift the Twenty20 Cup in front of a packed crowd at Edgbaston on Saturday night.

Chasing Surrey's competitive total of 168 for six in the floodlit final, Leicestershire paced their reply superbly with Australian overseas player Brad Hodge expertly guiding his side to victory with five balls to spare by scoring an unbeaten 77 off only 53 balls.
