The secret is out
Instead of communicating in 0's and 1's, like conventional computer networks, a four-node fledgling quantum internet called the DARPA Quantum Network (Q-NET) exchanges photons encoded with quantum states that are shades of 0's and 1's at the same time. Q-NET represents the first attempt to advance quantum cryptography from the realm of isolated point-to-point links and lab experiments to an actual network. And it's the first time that a network of quantum links has been developed that can handle everyday applications like bank transactions and secure web traffic using optical cables, that will be beset by noise, fluctuations in demand, and attempts to tap the line. If the Q-NET succeeds, it will bring totally secure quantum-encrypted communication to the rest of us. NewsScientist

Little problem for Echelon...

if DARPA is making the Q-NET technology public...any 'problems' have already been solved, i would suspect

??Why make available a means to your own destruction?

Agreed, Nothing is put out of a US lab that has not already been cleared by the intelligence communities

If this technology is made public, wouldnt I be able to read Field Manuals?

FYI doesnt DARPA needs to perform strategic classificaions of such systems?

can't have the chinese inflitrate our National Security
