World number two Andre Agassi withdrew on Friday from next week's Hamburg Masters.
It is the second Tennis Masters Series tournament the American has pulled out of, having missed the Monte Carlo Masters last month.
He didn't hang on to the number one spot for long asAgassi, the Australian Open champion, lost to David Ferrer in the opening round of the Masters in Italy this week, handing the number one spot back to Lleyton Hewitt in the process.

Agassi going down in the French! He went down to the player on tour with the best record on clay Guillermo Coria, so at least he has a good reason.
