Minnesota Vikings running back Michael Bennett could miss the upcoming season following a setback to the injury on his left foot.
Bennett had surgery in the spring after injuring the foot in a freak treadmill accident.
According to reports the screw that Bennett had inserted has broken and he must choose between a procedure that could get him back on the field late
in the pre-season, or a safer one that would sideline him for the year.
Commenting on the report, Vikings spokesman Bob Hagan said: "That's pretty accurate, yeah."
A first-round pick in the 2001 draft, Bennett was a major factor in the NFL's top rushing game last season, totalling 1,296 of the team's 2,507
yards.
He also had five touchdowns on 255 carries.
Well this could be a big loss to the vikings...
