The New York Yankees will likely attempt to sign free agent Carlos Beltran to play center field in The Bronx next season. That could spell the end of Bernie Williams' long tenure with the team, according to The Bergen Record.

Despite a recent surge at the plate, Williams' skills have shown signs of decline. What's more, concern seems to have grown over his chronically sore shoulders and knees.

"I am still trying to find a consistency," Williams said over the past weekend in Seattle. "I feel better from the left side (of the plate), but I've been getting better at-bats from the right side."
