(those two personally gut wrenching to ME...can't hardly listen to either one)

'Pancho & Lefty'
Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard

'Jealous Guy'
John Lennon

(those two are just sad in general and don't tear ME up.)

This song is very sad to me right now...

Fleetwood Mac ~Landslide

I took my love, I took it down
Climbed a mountain and I turned around
I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills
till the landslide brought me down

Oh, mirror in the sky
What is love
Can the child within my heart rise above
Can I sail thru the changing ocean tides
Can I handle the seasons of my life

Well, Ive been afraid of changing
cause Ive built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Children get older
Im getting older too

Oh, take my love, take it down
Climb a mountain and turn around
If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well the landslide will bring it down

If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well maybe the landslide will bring it down

For me it's Blue October's Hate Me, because it's so apt to what I put my wife through in the early years:

And with a sad heart I say bye to you and wave
Kicking shadows on the street for every mistake that I had made
And like a baby boy I never was a man
Until I saw your blue eyes crying and I held your face in my hand
And then I fell down yelling "make it go away!"
Just make a smile come back and shine just like it used to be
And then she whispered "How can you do this to me?"

www.lyricstop.com...

I was such a prick.

*tears*

This one...you ever been in love? So hard to say goodbye to a friend...I sure would like to leave you with something warm

Every night that goes between
I feel a little less
As you slowly go away from me
This is only another test

Every night you do not come
Your softness fades away
Did I ever really care that much
Is there anything left to say

Every hour of fear I spend
My body tries to cry
Living through each empty night
A deadly calm inside

I haven't felt this way I feel
Since many a year ago
But in those years and the lifetimes past
I did not deal with the road

And I did not deal with you I know
Tho the love has always been
So I search to find an answer there
So I can truly win

Every hour of fear I spend
My body tries to cry
Living through each empty night
A deadly calm inside

So I try to say
Goodbye my friend
I'd like to leave you with something warm
But never have I been a blue calm sea
I have always been a storm
I have always been a storm
ooh I have always been a storm
I have always been a storm

We were frail

She said
"Everynight he will break your heart"
I should have known from the first
I'd be the broken hearted

But I loved you from the start
Save us...
And not all the prayers in the world -- could save us

Mr Ambulance Driver by The Flaming Lips.

It's about a guy holding his dying love in his arms waiting for an ambulance to come and save her life. It's awesome.

Waiting... for the ambulance to come
Hoping that it doesn't come... to late
Hearing the sirens in the distance
Hold on help... Is on the way
Mr. Ambulance Driver
I'm right here beside her
Tho I'll live some how I've found
Mr. Ambulance Driver
I'm not a real survivor
Wishing that i was the one that...wasn't gonna be here anymore
The one that isn't here anymore
The one that isn't here anymore
Oh...we can't trade places
Our lives our strangely all alone
Mr. Ambulance Driver
Tell Me...for everyone that dies someone new is born
Mr. Ambulance Driver
I'm right here beside her
And tho I'll live some how I've found
Mr. Ambulance Driver
I'm not a real survivor
Cause I'm wishing that i was the one that...wasn't gonna be here anymore
Mr. Ambulance Driver
I'm right here beside her
And tho I'll live some how I've found
Mr. Ambulance Driver
I'm not a real survivor
Cause I'm wishing that i was the one that...wasn't gonna be here anymore
The one that isn't here anymore
The one that isn't here anymore
(Waiting for the ambulance to come, who who whooo)x2
Mr. Ambulance Driver

Not sure if this is the saddest song that i know but check out these guys and listen to the song called Laughing gas

www.myspace.com...

i found this band in my first year of uni and fell in love with them, laughing gas is a fairly recent song of theirs and it just seems to move me so much, maybe because i can relate to it so much but its like that with all songs, anyway have a listen to it and see what you think. for me, a band that arent massively famous to produce this sort of materiel is promising for the music scene to come, cheers

The saddest song I ever heard?

I've heard a few.

When I was five years old, The Lightning Express by the Everly Brothers affected me so strongly I would cry buckets and beg for the radio to be switched off when it played. Oddly enough, I found out several years later that another boy in my class had the same reaction -- and still had it at age 11!

But if you were to ask me what I now think are the saddest songs, I'd give you:

Phonograph Blues -- Robert Johnson

Stones in My Passway -- Robert Johnson

Feel Like Goin' Home -- Muddy Waters

Gamblin' Bar Room Blues -- Jimmie Rodgers

Cold, Cold Heart -- Hank Williams

The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carrol -- Bob Dylan

Tangled Up in Blue -- Bob Dylan

If You See Her, Say Hello -- Bob Dylan

A Soldier's Things -- Tom Waits

Where the Wild Roses Grow -- Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds

...and probably a dozen or so others.

Bread - Diary

I found her diary underneath the tree,
And started reading about me.
The words she’d written took me by surprise
You’d never read them in her eyes
They said that she had found,
The love she’d waited for.
Wouldn’t you know it,
She wouldn’t show it.

When confronted with her writing there.
She simply pretended not to care
I passed it off as just in keeping with,
Her usual disconcerting air.
And though she tried to hide,
The love that she denied
Wouldn’t you know it
She wouldn’t show it

And as I go through my life,
I will give to her, my wife,
All the sweet things I can find.

I found her diary underneath the tree
And started reading about me
The words began to stick and tears to flow
Their meaning now was plain to see
The love she’d waited for was someone else not me
Wouldn’t you know it,
She wouldn’t show it

And as I go through my life,
I will wish for her, his wife
All the sweet things she can find
All the sweet things they can find

Also,

Big Head Todd & The Monsters - Bittersweet

"Life without you" by Stevie Ray Vaughn, my guitar playing brothers hero. My brother played just like him. Hadnt seen him in over 6 years, the week before he as coming home he was killed in his car on the streets of Texas.

I had this played at his funeral. His name was Keith and he was my big brother. Fly on my friend

Well hello baby, Tell me, How have you been?
We all have missed you, And the way you grin
The day is necessary, Every now and then
For souls to move on, Given life back again

Fly on, Fly on, Fly on my friend
Go on, Go on and live again, Love again
Cause day after day, Night after night
Sittin' here singin', every, every minute

As the years go passin' by, by, by, by
A long look in the mirror, We come face to face
Wishin' our love we took for granted
A love we had yesterday, Cause Life Without You

All the love, you've passed our way
Angels have waited, for so long
Now they have their way
Take your place....

pink floyd
the wall
when the tigers broke free

It was just before dawn
One miserable morning in black 'forty four.
When the forward commander
Was told to sit tight
When he asked that his men be withdrawn.
And the Generals gave thanks
As the other ranks held back
The enemy tanks for a while.
And the Anzio bridgehead
Was held for the price
Of a few hundred ordinary lives.

And kind old King George
Sent Mother a note
When he heard that father was gone.
It was, I recall,
In the form of a scroll,
With gold leaf and all.
And I found it one day
In a drawer of old photographs, hidden away.
And my eyes still grow damp to remember
His Majesty signed
With his own rubber stamp.

It was dark all around.
There was frost in the ground
When the tigers broke free.
And no one survived
From the Royal Fusiliers Company C.
They were all left behind,
Most of them dead,
The rest of them dying.
And that's how the High Command
Took my daddy from me.

Sara `Fleetwood mac

Wait a minute baby...
Stay with me awhile
Said youd give me light
But you never told be about the fire

Drowning in the sea of love
Where everyone would love to drown
And now its gone
It doesnt matter anymore
When you build your house
Call me home

And he was just like a great dark wing
Within the wings of a storm
I think I had met my match -- he was singing
And undoing the laces
Undoing the laces

Drowning in the sea of love
Where everyone would love to drown
And now its gone
It doesnt matter anymore
When you build your house
Call me home

Hold on
The night is coming and the starling flew for days
Id stay home at night all the time
Id go anywhere, anywhere
Ask me and Im there because I care

Sara, youre the poet in my heart
Never change, never stop
And now its gone
It doesnt matter what for
When you build your house
Ill come by

Drowning in the sea of love
Where everyone would love to drown
And now its gone
It doesnt matter anymore
When you build your house
Call me home

All I ever wanted
Was to know that you were dreaming
(theres a heartbeat
And it never really died)
